I have been working in the web development field for the last few years, I specialize in web usability and information architecture. My goal for every project is to craft the site to best reach the goals the client has for their site by laying out exactly the needs of the clients before we start the design process. This way I can create a product that is exactly what your looking for.
I use a few different technologies based on the needs of each project such as PHP, MySQL, JavaScript / jQuery, AJAX, Flash, ASP.NET, CSS, and XHTML. I prefer not to limit myself to only a select few technologies, each project is different and I view technologies as a means to the goals of each project.
Most of the work I have done over the past few years has been freelance projects such as the Western Springs Park District, Trinity Presbyterian Church, and The Chicago Embroidery Company. I have also done larger scale web development using ASP.NET at Chicago Data Solutions.

My Finial
This is my finial, its a drastic upgrade from my midterm some of the very obvious things I added were the removal of the score system and addition of a level system. With that level system now the game gets progressively harder as you move up in levels. I also updated some of the graphics and added ship stats, so you can customize what you want to focus on armor or speed.

I recently wrote an article for the web site NETTUTS. The basic idea of the article was to get people into using OOP in PHP and also start looking at more advanced MySQL / Database structure
The is part one of two, the next one I'm going to spend some time explaining how to correctly develop a site using the principles of progressive enhancement. If you have not heard much about PE, I would check out this article on A List Apart about it.
Here is my midterm for web animation, its pretty much just a silly little Flash game where you have to move around as a spaceship and see how long you can not get killed from asteroids! It was pretty fun to make and I learned a few more things about Actionscript 3 in the process.

Its been quite a few years since I started using this domain name and I have gone through even more designs. This new design is the first time I have used PHP and written it all my self.
This new site I plan on using mainly as a blog and less of a portfolio site because I do most of my work now through the company I work for, Chicago Data Solutions. I plan on talking about current projects, UX, design, and programming in this blog along with some other topics I'm sure.
